Community

The Walker’s/Capital Group believes in doing its part to make our communities stronger, safer, healthier and happier and is grateful to our customers who enable us to give back when possible, by supporting local non-profits and community organizations in the good works they do.

We want to share with our customers – past, present and future, what their choice of movers means for so many more in the community. On this page we will post the images and stories of just some of the ways we are privileged to be able to reach out and help make a difference.
April 2012 – Capital Movers and Campbell’s Towing partnered to support the Scouts Canada Easter Food Drive for the Partners in Mission food bank. U Can containers were provided to the collection sites to ease the process of gathering food at seven sites around Kingston and transporting it all to the food bank’s warehouse. The Scouts collected 5,000 lbs of food and more than $2,000 in cash donations during the one-day food drive.

February 2012 – Capital Movers staff in Kingston & Trenton put on their pink best to take a stand against bullying. Joining with fellow sponsors, our staff visited the Boys & Girls Club of Kingston and Area to support the Pink Shirt Day campaign and help raise awareness.

November 2011 – Capital Movers & Storage staff Lorne M. and Mike G., with helper Corey W., delivered a piano donated by a generous Mallorytown resident, to the Brockville office of the Leeds & Grenville Big Brothers Big Sisters organization.www.pleasemoveme.com/news

ShelterBox (http://www.shelterboxcanada.org/) responds instantly to natural and man-made disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
